I haven't been to the pictures in a while. I think we attempted to see the last Harry Potter (wow, last summer?!) but there weren't four seats together. Before that? Bridget Jones 2 maybe - it's so long ago I really can't remember.
And I'm not a big fan of the chick-flick. But my best friend wanted to see Mamma Mia, and we hadn't spoken in a while so I caved. (There's no way I'd get her to come see Batman: Dark Knight or the new X-Files movies, which is much more my taste, but never mind).
I imagine if there had been more people there, we might have had dancing in the aisles. I do know that whoever was sitting behind me was a tapper. Which was kind of irritating. But the film was okay.
Oh, I'm so non-committal. Abba was never really my thing. And Meryl Streep throwing herself about in hissy-fits every five minutes would have driven me insane if she was my friend (thank you Julie Walters, for some light relief). Although I did well-up at the bit on the cliff path, when she sings The Winner Takes It All to good ol' Pierce.
And speaking of, I see that they've released the film soundtrack. E was her usual generous self - saying that the casting of actors who can't really sing that well, just lends to the realism of the characters. Bet they didn't do that in the stage version though ...
